Family Tree

I was able to go back 4 generations to complete my family tree. My grandmother’s parents on my father’s side are Bessie Royster and Willy Burley Satterwhite. They were born only 1 day apart. They both lived in Oxford, NC. My grandmother Blanche Satterwhite is one of their many children. She married my grandfather Walter Lyons (parents Amanda Thomas Lyon and Floyd Lyon) and had two sons. Their oldest son is my father Stanley Lyons.

My grandmother’s parents on my mother’s side are George Van Riper and Viola Fisher. They had several three children. One of their daughters is my grandmother Dorothy Van Riper-Dawson. Dorothy and my grandfather Council Dawson (his parents Alfred Dawson and Vera Dawson) had seven children. Their youngest child is my mother Sandra Dawson-Lyons.

I was unable to collect many dates on my mother’s side because her parents are no longer living. However, I was able to get names and some background information.
